Special Discount Pass for Foreigners in Japan: JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020

JR EAST has started a special promotional campaign to foreign passport holders in Japan, the discount pass is called "JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020". It began on October 16 and will end in February 2021. It would be a great opportunity for foreigners in Japan to discover Japan this autumn and winter.

What is JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020?

The pass is available only to foreign passport holders (regardless of visa status - temporary visitor, long-term resident, permanent resident, etc.) in Japan and the pass allows to travel unlimitedly on all JR East trains in the areas or Tokyo, Tohoku, Nagano and Niigata for consecutive 3 days. It also includes Shinkansen.

You can purchase the pass at JR East Travel Service Centers and online.

Adult: 12,000 yen
Child: 6,000 yen
