The American School in Japan Donated a Large Amount of Sweet Potatoes

Poste date: Sunday, December 3, 2023

The American School in Japan Early Learning Center donated a large quantity of sweet potatoes. The student who are between ages 3 to 6, worked very hard to dig up and harvest the sweet potatoes that had grown so large in the field.

We received about 150 sweet potatoes that were carefully wrapped in newspaper by the students.

When we received the sweet potatoes from the students, we explained to them about poverty and food loss in Japan. The students already had a good understanding of the SDGs and donation activities. The children said “Thank you” to us, knowing that the sweet potatoes that they had dug for themselves, were now to be given to the hands of those in need through us.

We delivered the sweet potatoes to the following “Support Groups for the needy”

The sweet potatoes we received were given to people in need through the following four organizations. All the organizations were happy to receive the sweet potatoes, as they are short in supply.

We believe that the kindness of the children of the American School was delivered.  We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the students and teachers who cooperated with us.
