Food Support in June - Delivered Food to Minato-ku Impoverished Families, Refugee Support Organizations

Poste date: Monday, August 26, 2024

In June, we delivered food to impoverished families, homeless support organizations, refugee support organizations, foreigner support organizations, and self-reliance support organizations in Minato Ward. We received numerous donations from individuals within the ward, as well as disaster relief supplies from local companies and government offices. Thanks to these generous contributions, we were able to deliver substantial quantities of food to those in need.

July marks the beginning of summer vacation, a particularly challenging time for families with children as school lunches are not provided. If you have any surplus summer gifts or uneaten food, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your support is greatly appreciated.

50 Families in Need in Minato City

On June 28th, through the Takanawa Food Pantry, we provided disaster relief supplies such as retort-pouched curry and instant rice, as well as donated retort foods, canned goods, and snacks to 50 households in Minato Ward, totaling 138 people (including 74 children). Many of these households have growing children, and the reality is that the food supplies are still insufficient.

Homeless Support Organizations

We delivered a large quantity of food to Grama Seva Japan, an organization that supports the homeless in Yoyogi Park. Volunteers from our company also participated, distributing disaster relief supplies such as instant rice, pilaf, and bread.

Refugee Empowerment Network (REN)

We delivered brown rice, curry rice sets, and instant rice to the refugee support organization REN, which was very well received and appreciated.

Brazilian Consulate NPO SABJA

Through the Brazilian Consulate, we delivered a large quantity of curry rice sets to the NPO SABJA, an organization that supports impoverished Brazilians living in Japan.

FOOD BANK MEGURO

We delivered curry rice sets to the Food Bank Meguro. This food bank has also reported an increase in demand and a shortage of food supplies.

General Incorporated Association Nanairo

Nanairo is an organization that supports the transition of homeless individuals into regular housing. We delivered canned bread, instant rice, and retort-pouched pilaf to them.
