Kamioshiya is a very quiet residential area. In addition to two metropolitan parks (Roka Koshun-en and Soshigaya Park), it is rich in greenery with many fields. The nearest station, Chitose-Karasuyama, is approximately 10km west of Shinjuku. Using the semi-limited express service, access to Shinjuku takes just 12 minutes. Bus services are also well-developed: Kichijoji, located north of Chitose-Karasuyama, is about 30 minutes by bus, while Seijo Gakuen, to the south, takes approximately 20 minutes. The high frequency of services makes them very convenient to use. The surrounding area features the shopping district known as El Mall Karasuyama. Within a 1.5km radius north and south of the station, over 150 shops line the streets. These include vibrant, traditional small businesses reminiscent of a downtown area – such as greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers, women's clothing shops, and shoe shops – alongside large supermarkets. It is a shopping district brimming with human warmth, where the connections between shops and between people run deep, making it a place where you can shop with peace of mind.
