Suburb of Tokyo Overview

The suburb areas in Setagaya-ku, Ota-ku, Shinagawa-ku and Meguro-ku covering Denenchofu, Jiyugaoka, Seijo, Seta, Naka-meguro, Himonya, Youga, Komazawa-daigaku, Gakugei-daigaku, Yutenji, Fukazawa, etc. 

 Major suburban areas such as Setagaya-ku, Ota-ku, Shinagawa-ku, Meguro-ku.  Residential areas suitable for the families, where are a little away from the downtown commercial areas. All the areas are easy to live as there are full of the life-related facilities in the areas, such as schools, supermarkets, hospitals, and parks.

 The residences there are mostly low-rise condominiums and single-family homes. Among the areas, Dennenchofu, Seijo, and Jiyugaoka are famous as the high-class residential areas. The international schools such as Seisen and Saint Mary are located in Yoga and Seta in Setagaya-ku, and are popular areas among the foreigner families.

The area around Den-en-Chofu Station in Ota-ku is easy to go to the German school in Yokohama.

  • Shinagawa-ku

    The eastern part of Shinagawa-ku faces Tokyo Bay and is developed as a modern waterfront area. Besides office areas, residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, historical temples and shrines are dotted in the area. This area also has charm of local feel.

    Living environments are well organized in this area. It is developed as a residential area near central Tokyo. There are also fashionable shopping towns such as Jiyugaoka and Nakameguro. Many educational institutes including universities gather around here.

    Haneda Airport serving as the entrance to remote cities and overseas is located here. The eastern part of Ota-ku faces Tokyo Bay. The commercial facilities gather around Kamata Station. The residential areas such as Denenchofu, Senzokuike, Sanno, Magome, etc., spread out from the middle towards the western part of Ota-ku.

    A little ways away from central Tokyo, there lies a suburban residential area. There are many parks and cultural institutes including art museums and libraries. The living environment is well organized and established. This area is also known to have luxurious residential neighborhoods.
